Smith, a boarding scholar at Andover Theological Seminary, wrote the lyrics to (America) My Country Tis of Thee in this house “on a gloomy day in 1832.”  Now a Philips Academy dormitory hall known as “A-House,” George W. Bush also lived here as a high school student.
